Who Am I?

Economics, Fashion, Style

My life journey, which began on September 19 in İzmir, has today evolved into a vision that creates value in the professional world and touches both people and brands.

Just like this first connection I’m making with you on this page, I have always greeted life with sincerity and hope. I grew up in a family shaped by strong values. My mother, who remains positive under all circumstances and can always see the beauty in life; my father, whose professional achievements, spiritual strength, and social engagement have consistently served as an example for me; my grandmother and grandfather, who taught me from an early age what hard work, responsibility, and generosity truly mean; my paternal grandmother, who embodied the grace of an İzmir lady; and my grandfather, whose work in printing and broad vision were sources of inspiration to me.

I am deeply grateful to all of them for raising me in such a warm environment. The values I received from them continue to illuminate my path today, both in my career and personal life.

During my high school years, my scientific curiosity led me, together with my biology teacher, to work on a project titled “The Study of Secondary Succession in the Dilek Peninsula,” which was awarded the TÜBİTAK Special Prize. This award was a significant milestone that helped shape my vision and steer my passion for learning.

I completed my undergraduate studies in Business Administration. Through specialized training in areas such as Brand Management, Customer Relations, Leadership, Family Business Management, and E-commerce, I gained extensive knowledge and experience spanning from branding processes to strategic marketing and sales management. Keeping this expertise continuously up-to-date is not merely a choice for me — it is a way of life.

In my first master’s program, I embarked on my professional career at a company that carried out international projects in strategic sectors like construction and tourism. I then gained valuable experience across diverse industries, including tourism, textile retail, and construction.

In 2014, I set out on my entrepreneurial journey. I launched my own textile brand and brought my first collection to life. At the same time, as a founding partner of an e-commerce venture operating in watches, jewelry, and textiles, I played an active role in digital commerce as well.

My drive in the business world is balanced in harmony with my social life. Spending time with my loved ones, discovering new places, and sharing moments of joy with my friends hold great meaning for me.

I love living life to the fullest — laughing, creating, exploring.

But above all, I choose to do all this without straying from the path of what is lawful (halal) and by staying true to my spiritual values.

I know that true peace comes when there is faith in the heart and sincerity in intention.

Of course, we are human; we are not without flaws. But I believe my Lord is forgiving, so long as our hearts are pure and our direction is toward Him. I have never knowingly — or even unknowingly — hurt anyone. Even when I had just reasons to respond to those who hurt me, I chose forgiveness over retaliation. Because I believe that to forgive is the victory that most lightens the heart.

And I know that lasting success is born not of those who say “I,” but of hearts that can say “we.”

From Writing to Design: An Invitation to the Dance of an Economic Mind and an Aesthetic Soul

At the core of my writings on economics and family businesses lies a steadfast belief: it is possible to design the future upon deeply rooted values.

In my newly published book, Family Business Management and the Second Generation, I placed this philosophy at the center. I closely examined the dynamics of family businesses in Turkey, the fractures that occur during intergenerational transitions, and their struggles for sustainability. Yet I also place great importance on cultivating a perspective nourished by the many facets of life—one that is not confined solely to economics.

My hobby of fashion and jewelry design represents the creative dimension of this productivity. While building intellectual richness through my economic writings, I also create a space for aesthetic and cultural expression through fashion and design. Each piece of jewelry, each element of a collection, carries a story stretching from the past to the future, much like the cultural legacy of family businesses.

In my future articles, I will continue exploring both the transformation of family enterprises and how design-oriented thinking can enrich organizational structures.

Sports: Discipline, Passion, and Living in the Moment

Throughout my life, sports have been more than just physical activity; they have been a part of discipline, passion, and embracing the moment. In high school, I had the pride of becoming third in İzmir in table tennis. This sport, which requires immense focus with such a small paddle, taught me to think quickly and move strategically.

Tennis is one of the sports I enjoy the most. It feels like a game where you compete more with yourself than with your opponent. During a tournament in Istanbul, I had the unforgettable opportunity to meet legendary tennis player Venus Williams—an inspiring memory tied to this passion.

Golf, on the other hand, is an entirely different world: a game of concentration, patience, and harmony with nature. Although I don’t yet have the time to play regularly, my brief experiences have sparked a desire to explore this sport more deeply in the future.

My interest in football (soccer) dates back to my childhood. The matches I attended with my father became cherished memories that both strengthened our family bond and deepened my love for the sport. Even today, I can say I still play a good game on the field.

Horses, Nature, and the Gift of Health

My horseback riding journey began at the Istanbul Equestrian Sports Club and continued later in Kemer. The bond formed with horses is beyond sport—it is a spiritual experience. Advancing in this sport, however, requires owning a horse and dedicating substantial weekly time. Though I have had to pause this pursuit for now, the passion remains ever alive within me.

All these experiences that have accompanied me throughout life—sports, nature, friendship, family, and personal passions—have shown me how together they form a profound wealth. They have helped me better appreciate the value of health and life. After all, a healthy body and mind are the greatest gifts bestowed upon us by God.

As Mevlânâ beautifully said:

“Be grateful that you are healthy; for the body is like an inn, and health is the sultan within it.”

This is why I wake up each day thankful simply to be able to breathe. I will continue to live my passions, to share, and to seek new meanings.
